A Story – Words that can make a sad person happy and a happy person sad!

One day, a person presented Mughal Emperor, Jalaluddin Akbar with a diamond ring. King Akbar started thinking. He announced: I want my courtiers to write some inscription on this ring which should make a sad person happy when he reads that writing. At the same time, those words should make a happy person sad when he reads them.

People were puzzled. What can be those words which will make a sad person happy and a happy person sad? King’s Vizier, Beerbal, took the ring to his home and next day returned the ring to King Akbar. He wrote those words which could make a sad person happy and a happy person sad.

The inscription on ring was: This time will pass too!

Think over it. Every kind of time, happy or not happy, pass away. How do we use our time? Choice is ours.

We wait and wait and wait for miracle to happen or we try to make things move or we take initiatives to make things happen?

Here is the power point summary and related lessons from the book: Who Moved My Cheese?

Out of 45 votes castes, 76% believed that happiness depends upon inner feeling and external environment. 22% believe the happiness comes totally from within while only 2% believe that happiness solely depends upon external environment….

I realy wn m frnd asghr to feel happy as he recntly lost hiz brother in a road accident

Happiness is a state of mind. Its always from within.
If helps if you are doing good for others, you will feel happy.

Happiness is in giving time, money or anything that you have in charity… or to others…

If you want to be happy: you ARE happy. It doesnt lie in the physical possessions that we so often believe.

Dare to dream!

Dear Nuruddin Thanks for your comments. Yes, happiness is really a state of mind and comes from within. Book of this week: Seven habits of highly effective people is all about ‘habits’. If you want to cultivate happiness forever, cultivate habits leading to happiness!

Do we even really understand what it means to be happy? I read this somewhere that “The secret of happiness is to make others believe they are the cause of it”.
